    Canandaigua City Council Update
    The Canandaigua City Council unanimously approved a memorandum of understanding with the Canandaigua Area Development Corporation to develop the Canandaigua Lakefront Arts and Natural Park, involving land donations and partnerships with multiple organizations including FLCC and New York Kitchen. The council also approved purchasing a fully electric police utility vehicle using grant funds, authorized grant applications for water facility improvements, and addressed resident concerns about flooding and Main Street repaving during public comments.

    Dog Attack in Canandaigua
    A Canandaigua police officer shot and killed a pit bull after it severely mauled its 29-year-old owner while on a walk, leaving her with serious injuries to her arm, hand, leg, shoulder, and face before charging at the responding officer. The incident occurred Friday afternoon on Saltonstall Street, and the victim was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital while the dog also bit a bystander who tried to help.

    Margarita & Mimosa Fest - July 26
    Featuring five participating bars: Twisted Rail, Murphy's Law, COHO Pizza & Wine Bar, Other Half Brewing, and Canandaigua Lady Party Cruises. With live music, drink specials, and giveaways for cocktail enthusiasts, 21+. Tickets are required for entry and drink discounts, with registration happening 2:00-4:00PM only, and a portion of proceeds benefiting Family Promise.

    Comic Workshop for Teens - July 30 @ Wood Library
    Grades 7-12 students can join Rochester comic artist Jackie Davis for a full-day comic workshop at the library. Participants should bring lunch - registration is required by July 30.

    Central on Main - August 2 @ Downtown Canandaigua
    The Central on Main transforms a former parking lot into a vibrant outdoor dining venue featuring food from local restaurants, a bar, and live music on the Canandaigua Rotary Stage. Guests enjoy free entry with plenty of seating and can order takeout or have food delivered directly to their table via mobile device.

    Train - August 8 @ CMAC
    Train will perform with special guest Edwin McCain, featuring the multi-GRAMMY Award-winning, diamond-selling band from San Francisco known for hits like "Meet Virginia," "Drops of Jupiter," and "Hey, Soul Sister."

    Wine for Normies - August 2 @ NY Kitchen
    Wine writer Maiah Johnson Dunn leads this "Wine for Normies" class teaching participants how to taste, talk about, and pair wines through a flight of five New York State wines. The $54 class at New York Kitchen includes a Nosh Box and covers wine storage, pricing, and tasting notes in a fun, accessible format without the stuffiness. Registration required.
