    Crackdown on Illegal Swimming
    The Canandaigua Police Department is launching a strict enforcement campaign to stop illegal swimming in restricted areas around Kershaw Park, Lakefront Park, and the City Pier, with violators facing fines of up to $250.

    At a meeting on Tuesday, they discussed a variety of topics including approving a special event request from the Canandaigua Knights Youth Hockey organization, addressing pedestrian and traffic safety concerns with enhanced enforcement efforts, and implementing a zero-tolerance policy for lakefront rule violations.

    On the Lookout for Algae Bloom
    Experts warn that Canandaigua Lake is primed for harmful algae blooms due to ideal weather conditions including warm water, heavy rainfall, and nutrient-rich runoff containing phosphorus and nitrogen from soil. 

    Canandaigua Planning Commission Meeting
    Several major projects were reviewed including a controversial 79-lot Waterchase subdivision that was tabled due to drainage concerns, and a revised Finger Lakes Dental office plan that was also tabled for design improvements.

    This all-levels stand up paddleboard yoga class combines breath work with movement on Canandaigua Lake, offering a unique mix of strengthening poses and stretching in a relaxing lakeside setting. Classes run weekly on Saturdays until August 30th for $40 (or $25 if you bring your own board), with pre-registration required and equipment provided.

    The 7X ACM and 6X CMA "Group of the Year" winners are touring with their "How Good Is That World Tour" featuring special guests ERNEST and Redferrin. Tickets required.

    37th Annual Art & Music Festival - July 18-20 @ Main Street, Canandaigua
    This three-day festival features over 150 artists displaying work in categories like ceramics, jewelry, woodworking, and photography along Main Street, plus young student artists showcasing their creations. The event also includes live music performances on the Maxion Stage ranging from bluegrass to jazz, and a wide variety of food vendors offering everything from traditional festival fare to international cuisine.

    Chef’s Table Class - July 26 @ NY Kitchen
    The Chef's Table Class is an exclusive cooking experience where participants receive a knife skills demonstration and recipe review before preparing a seasonal menu featuring local beef tournedos or roasted chicken with herb beurre blanc sauce, seasonal vegetables, and berry shortcake. Tickets include the cooking experience, full meal, and New York State beverages for two people, with culinary education staff providing tips and guidance throughout the hands-on cooking session. Registration required.
